On tap at the brewpub in Reedsburg. Pours black with a single finger of tan creamy head. Poor retention and no lacings.
Aroma is quite roasted with black and chocolate malts throughout. Very dry and a bit ephemeral in the nose, as a good Irish dry stout should be.
Taste is very roasted as well with chocolate and coffee notes alongside. A mild finish of coffee and black malts lingers for a while, accentuating the semi-dry character from the roasted malts. Nice!
Mouthfeel is full bodied with a very roasted and dry character, along with lingering dry roasted coffee notes. A very well proportioned Irish stout.
Drinkability is good. This is what an Irish stout should be. Roasted with coffee undertones, the character of this brew walks the fine line of black malt character and a medium body, all while being fairly easy to drink. Cheers!

Appearance is black with ruby hues when held to light. Thin khaki-brown head. Great retention at ΒΌ inch. Decent lacing. Dry, smoky coffee aroma. Very basic but stylistically accurate taste of lightly roasted coffee, dry dark malts, and a hint of chocolate. Well bittered finish. Very light body. Minimal carbonation. Dead on for the style. Excessively drinkable. A great take on the style.
