On tap at the Corner Pub, served in a pilsner glass.
Review from notes.

Black bodied, a sticky ring of lace, with creamy tan foam that settled to a lacy ring and skim across the top. Faintly smoky aroma, more ashy, with faint chocolate.

Dry bakers chocolate and espresso notes, tobacco like roasted malt, lightly bitter in the finish. A wisp of smoldering ashy smoke. Balanced and not heavy handed with the smoke element. It's well put together and melds nicely. Less aggressive than something like Stone Smoked Porter, but this is more drinkable and enjoyable overall.

On tap at the brewpub in Reedsburg. Pours black with minimal head; a tan soapy rim that lasts for a couple minutes.

Aroma is of dark chocolate malts and notes of roasted malt, caramel, and a pleasant earthy base from the smoke. Nicely composed in the aroma, with a fresh quality and wonderful richness.

Taste is of black malts and subtle earthy smoke up front, with a solid meaty smoked finish of residual black and roasted malts. Chocolate and caramel notes are distant, enveloped by the smoked quality while the roasted malts and smoke stand side by side in the foreground. Solid.

Mouthfeel is full bodied and sticky, with a smooth and satisfying finish of smoky roasted malts.

Drinkability is good. Not many smoked porters carry the smoked quality through to the aftertaste as well as this one does. Well crafted and wonderfully smoky. Cheers!

Again...a change in recipe?? Smoke pressence nothing like DPD described in his review.

A-Cocoa-cola brown with a thin tan head reducing to spotty lacing.

S-Faint roasty scent with a bit of smokiness in the background.

T-Flavours of the aroma come thru in the taste a bit better. Nice roast and smoke...but nothing like the previous review. In fact I could barley tell this was a smoked porter. But it was a decent porter nonetheless.

M-Medium-light body with good smoothness.

D-Easy to drink, pleasant and non-offensive.

Once again the Corner Pub delivers. Can this place make any thing less then stellar beer? I think not. Smoked Porter pours dark brown, damn near black into a tumbler with a thick off white head that descend to skim after a few minutes. Ample carbonation. Aroma is intensely smoky, without being meaty, but contains noticeable hints of coffee and chocolate. The flavor is sublime. Rich chocolate and bitter espresso delivered with intense, almost highland scotch like, burnt wood fumes. Tons of smoke. My lungs and nose want me to cough while I’m drinking this as if I were actually inhaling smoke. This is awesome. Full bodied, meaty, super dry, decently bitter, and very rich. Surprisingly drinkable. At first I was worried if I would be able to finish the pint. It came across so damned smoky but after a while I kind of got used to it and started to crave and enjoy the smokiness more and more. Eventually the pint was finished and I wanted another one.
