This is a limited edition barrel aged version! We took last years More Boos and aged it in a second use bourbon barrel for a year. This beer is a deep amber imperial ale brewed with real pumpkin, China cinnamon, allspice, nutmeg, ginger, mace, cloves, brown sugar, and Madagascar vanilla beans and aged in a second use wild turkey barrels for almost a year providing balanced notes of bourbon, vanilla, pumpkin spices, and oak.

Unimpressive appearance, with almost no head production quickly leading to a still dark amber brew in the glass.

Pleasant aroma that features a strong caramel malt base, a decent amount of bourbon, and just a hint of pumpkin spice.

A touch sour on the palate, and the bourbon overwhelms the dry pumpkin spices. It all comes together quite nicely, but I was hoping that the bourbon would enhance the richness of the base beer, and it simply doesn't.

Reviewed two days after bottle release. Poured into an Untied tulip glass. It pours a dark reddish-brown, like iced tea, with a half finger of creamy, light khaki head and lacing. The fragrant nose features pumpkin, cinnamon, clove, brown sugar, vanilla, and just a whiff of bourbon. The taste is similar to the base More Boos with pumpkin fruit, brown sugar, cinnamon, clove, vanilla, and graham cracker, along with subtle but noticeable bourbon. I'm impressed by the delicacy of the bourbon influence; it's there but it compliments - and doesn't overwhelm - the other flavors. I also like the fact that I can taste the pumpkin rind itself and not just the pumpkin pie spicing. The mouth feel is thick and creamy with lite/moderate carbonation, and the 12.6% ABV is not readily evident. Overall, this is a very fine Imperial Pumpkin Ale. I enjoyed the base More Boos but I like this bourbon aged variant even more. It's flavorful and thoroughly enjoyable. Untied has shown its skill in brewing it.
