This beer is aged in bourbon barrels providing notes of bourbon, coffee roast, chocolate, caramel, oak, vanilla, and a subtle cherry-plum fruitiness hiding in the back.

Reviewed one week after bottle release. Poured from 500 ML bottle into a tulip glass. It pours a dark walnut with some cola hues at the bottom of the glass. The light mocha-colored head dissipated almost immediately. A very nice nose: fresh coffee, chocolate, cola, dark fruit, tobacco, and noticeable bourbon. The taste follows the nose. It has all the flavors I'd expect, including some nice notes of black cherry. Having discussed this Stout with the owner, I knew the carbonation level would be low so I'm not surprised. I think the viscosity is lower than the base Stout. It's very drinkable for 10.2% ABV. Overall, the flavor is great and it's very drinkable. I love the base Stout and think this version would benefit from greater viscosity and carbonation.
