Inspired by the artistic and philosophical movement of the early 20th century, this dark Czech lager may be dark in color but is light in body with mild roast. After facing the horrors of WWI, a new art form was born. After facing the pain of losing ones father one can find joy in the birth of new life. Embrace the absurdity of life; although everything may not make any sense "everything is going to be alright." Cheers to Dada.

Pint pour on draught at the brewery. It pours a pretty, dark cola color with nearly a finger of creamy, light khaki head and thick, soapy lacing inside the glass. The nose is bigger than I expected with roasted malt, freshly-brewed coffee, nuts, tobacco smoke, and just a whiff of chocolate. The taste follows suit: it's dry with notes of toasted dark bread, earthy char, burnt nuts, and coffee grounds. As it warms in the glass there is more than a hint of chocolate sweetness. The flavors blend very nicely. It's surprisingly rich and creamy for the style with a good level of carbonation and the 5.9% ABV gives it good substance. Yet it's highly drinkable. Overall, Dada is a flavorful and very drinkable dark lager. And kudos to Untied for brewing and canning a classic style that too few brewers take the time to make.
