Reviewed on release day. Poured from 500 ML bottle into a stout glass at 61° It pours a very dark walnut. There is no head or lacing. It has a lovely nose, including roasted malt, dark chocolate, fresh coffee, caramel, vanilla, brown sugar, graham cracker, and mild but distinct bourbon. Its taste is superb. The bourbon barrel influence is strong and compliments the chocolate and coffee. This variant is sweeter than the previous ones with lots of chocolate and vanilla bean. There is no bitterness. The mouth feel is luxuriously thick and creamy with mild carbonation, and the 10.2% ABV is noticeably but not overpowering. Overall, I like this version of Left in the Dark a lot and will purchase more bottles.
