Pours a hazy, deep golden amber, peach coloration with a medium, foamy head. Smell is a little subdued, with some biscuity malt and hoppy notes of white grape, gooseberry, grapefruit and mango. Taste is a good balance of distinct biscuity malt and mellow hoppy notes of orchard fruit: white grape and gooseberry, peach, with ligher accents of tropical/citrus fruits: mango, grapefruit and just a hint of herbal grassiness and pine. Finishes with a light bitterness and some white grape and gooseberry notes lingering in the aftertaste. Soft, pillowy mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
This is quite dominated by the Hallertau Blanc in a really good way, lending some interesting notes of white grape, gooseberry, perhaps even blueberry and redcurrant to this, backed up by the more traditional Citra/Simcoe notes of tropical/citrus notes and pine. It does have a really nice and mellow hop intensity to it that doesn't beat you over the head and just feels pleasant and easy-drinking. Very nice, soft and pillowy, mouthfeel for a German NEIPA as well.
