Pours a hazy, orange coloration with a huge, foamy, lasting head. Smells of biscuity malt and citrus/tropical hops, with notes of grapefruit, tangerine, mango and coconut. Taste follows the nose, with a good balance of light biscuity malt and fruity, juicy and slightly herbal hops, with citrus and tropical notes of grapefruit, tangerine, mango and coconut, with just a hint of mint also coming through. Finishes with a light bitterness and some tangerine, mango and mint lingering in the aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and strong carbonation.
While I think that Sabro hops can work in darker beers, I'm just not a big fan of them in IPAs as those coconut and sometimes minty notes, which are particularly prevalent here, just don't work for me within the style. Nevertheless this still makes for a nice and juicy New England DIPA with some expressive, although a bit muddled up, hop notes. The flavor profile just isn't really for me, with this being a bit too sweet for my personal taste as well. The carbonation level also seems to be a bit off here, being very strong and producing a huge, foamy head even with a very careful pour.
