Pours a hazy, dark orange coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of light biscuity malt and tropical/stone fruit/citrus hops, with notes of passion fruit, apricot and tangerine, as well as hints of potpourri and vanilla. Taste is a great balance of light biscuity malt and fruity, juicy, slightly floral and resinous hops, with strong tropical, stone fruit and lighter citrus notes of passion fruit, papaya, apricot, tangerine and grapefruit, as well as hints of potpourri, pine and vanilla. Finishes with a light bitterness and some passion, fruit, apricot, potpourri and vanilla lingering in the aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
This is the second NEIPA I've had from Blech.Brut featuring HBC 520 hops recently and that unique flavor profile stands out here just as much, maybe more due to the higher ABV, while it works a little better for me here in combination with the other hops. Sweet, juicy tropical and stone fruit notes are dominant, with that certain, floral potpourri note that kinda reminds me of Talus and, oddly enough, hints of vanilla (this does not contain lactose). This is all balanced very nicely by some more earthy, resinous and bitter accents, making for a very enjoyable example of the style, despite being a little boozy. I think we're looking at the next big NEIPA hop here, you read it here first. They are gonna slap a cool, hip name on this and it's really gonna take off.
