Picked this recently at the Bottle King in Livingston, having never had this before or anything else from Hackensack Brewing for that matter. Had to laugh at this name because it was in the news last year but all kidding aside, this was this was a deceptively smooth Triple IPA that went down easily and had the alcohol hidden, although the heft was still fairly noticeable throughout my session.
This had a nice, golden hue to it as it was bright, hazy, and uniform without any sediment to be seen. A nice head topped this off as the lacing left behind was quite extensive and layered with a few deep an well-defined rings along the upper half of my pint glass. Hints of wheat, gooseberry, blueberry, star, and jack fruit in the nose as the taste was equally slick and dank with plenty of slickness on the palate and in the mouthfeel. The carbonation was light and the malt was present but the Neo1, Medusa, and Sabro all combined to give this a snake-fruit like bite (no pun intended) that never let go once it got a hold of me.
Lots of booze here and the warming kicked in right around the time I finished this off. Such a fun beer and a bit tough to pinpoint as hints of weed, bitter chocolate, and sticky mango lingered on my lips and in my throat once this fully went down. Enjoyed this beer and the artful label but I wish that this had a date on the bottom as I was unsure of it's age. Thankfully, the "sting" from this was palatable as this was a good first impression from Hackensack!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
