We’re a family of farmers, brewers, and food lovers who believes local can be more delicious. Schaendorf Brewing Company is operated by the second generation of a local family dairy farm dedicated to providing customers with farm-to-table cuisine and handcrafted beer in a family friendly environment. Built in the late 1800s, the site of our brewery has served many uses over the last century for the city of Allegan, including a car dealership, a meat market, and home to the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. It’s possible Allegan’s very first brewery was even in the same location! We hope you come back often as we restore this unique historical piece of downtown Allegan to a place for the community to gather, sharing in good food and friendship.

Spacious, almost warehouse-like dining by room and lovely wooden bar. Plenty of local provisions to go as well. Don’t sleep on historic downtown Allegan!

We stopped here to try the beers and to have a snack. The place is located in an old building on the edge of the downtown area. On-street parking is all that I saw being available. There are coolers just inside the entrance with meats, cheeses from the family farm that you pass by, and then enter into a large pub area. A long bar permits spaced groupings of 2-3 per the pandemic, and the booths and tables are very spread out in this large space. There is an overflow seating area in the next room where the kitchen is located. Five or six TVs are mounted on the walls throughout.
We ordered a sampler flight of 6 beers out of the 14 taps (wine and liquor is also available). All of them were brewed very well to style, but I didn't think the Lime Neath Gose was a good example of that style. It was just okay, and we liked the others to score them at a B- grade.
We just ordered an app to eat, and discovered that the garlic Parmesan fries and are excellent. The rest of the menu looked very good (it's on the website) but we weren't that hungry for a meal. This place is worthy of a visit if you're in the area.
