"Marsalkka Luomuvehnä." Reviewed from notes taken in Summer 2014.
Truncated review sitting on a park bench with a bottle in Helsinki:
.5 litres. Cost was under 3 euro.
4.60% ABV.
AROMA: Pilsner and helles malts. Crisp barley. Some grassy hop aromatics.
Seems surprisingly well-balanced. A pleasant aroma of average strength.
TASTE: Grassy hops complement the simple helles and pilsner malt backbone surprisingly well. Clean 2-row barley fills out the body.
Average depth, duration, and intensity of flavour.
Not as cohesive in build as it ought to be. Has a sharp metallic off-flavour to its obvious detriment.
TEXTURE: Smooth, wet, crisp, overcarbonated, light-bodied, and somewhat refreshing.
OVERALL: Downable but underwhelming. I wouldn't buy it again, but I've had worse. Above average in spite of its flaws and shortcomings.
C+ (3.14) / ABOVE AVERAGE
