CAN: .5L. Aluminum. Standard pull-tab. Orange & white label design.
4.60% ABV.
Served cold into a mason jar in Kuopio, Finland, where it was purchased at a supermarket.
HEAD: ~3 inches wide. White colour. Average characteristics. ~5 minute retention.
BODY: Clear copper of average vibrance. Clean, with no visible yeast or sediment.
Appealing for the style, certainly.
AROMA: Has a pleasant floral hop character with a hint of orange peel. Nice fragrant pale malt backbone. Clean barley.
Aromatic intensity is average.
Has no yeast character, alcohol, or off-notes.
Suggests a pleasing copper lager with plenty of depth of flavour.
TASTE: Pleasant pale malts mix with nuanced fruity and floral hops to good effect. Balanced if simple and plain, with nice depth of flavour for a copper lager. Adequate complexity for what it is. I like it, but there's not much to it.
Clean ester-free lager yeast guides the beer.
TEXTURE: Overcarbonated, light to medium-bodied, smooth, and wet. Adequate to support the flavour profile, but not accentuating or harmonious.
OVERALL: Not a gestalt copper lager, but an enjoyable one. It's a nice festbier for its price range, and will satisfy but not impress the discerning drinker. Worth trying, and highly drinkable. Rather good by Finnish standards, but it can't compete with world-class offerings in the style. The fruity notes in particular are lovely, but the hops grow overly bitter as it comes to temperature, lending it a berry-like astringency.
