Moderate but dense head that settles with dome center. Streaks and spots are left in the wake. The liquid has a slight chill haze. The color is bright gold.
The smell starts off as a cross between dry pale malt and sweeter crystal malt (semidry caramel). Only afterwards does the floral hop come through.
The body and carbonation are close to average in each case. Dry beginning to the taste with a black pepper (hop) seeping in slowly. The swallow brings forth a grapefruit overtone while the bitter continues through to the aftertaste. Despite the hint of sweetness in the smell, this is a dry beer that leaves a crisp finish.
