2021 version. Blue and orange logo.
Pours an opaque orange with a dull hue, looking like a ripe nectar sitting on a counter. The only difference between this look and a fruit, is the two fingers of white foam sitting above the beer. Aroma is ripe grapefruit, papaya, mango, tangerine, and orange zest. Really punchy and bright start, that fades towards herbal, resiny, and piney. "Fades towards" meaning the tropical fruits are the driving force throughout the aroma. It smells dense, and thick. Flavor profile is mango, tangerine, papaya, grapefruit, orange zest, and grassy hops. Flavor profile is much more tropical fruit than the nose, elevating the citrus notes above the grassy, herbal hops. There is just a kiss of hop heat and burn at the back, lingering with resiny, and grapefruit hop notes. Mouth feel has a light grit to it, with a medium-thick consistency that combines to make for an expansive, and hearty IPA. Overall, a hearty DIPA with NE IPA roots. Tropical fruits are potent, with some playfully shy (Shy Ronnie?) grassy and herbal hops.
Served in a 15.5oz Speigalau tulip from a 16oz can.

Pours a hazy yellow; slightly darker than an American wheat. Nearly white head that quickly collapses; minimal lacing. Taste is grapefruit-like initially that becomes a bit more piney; finishes mildly bitter.
This is an enjoyable example of a New England DIPA.
Crowler canned on 4/17.
