Alma Mader's 2nd anniversary beer pours a solid gold - completely opaque. An off-white head forms and quickly collapses; minimal lacing. The aroma is full of grass and bitter citrus, with only a little resin lurking in the background. The taste is very well-balanced for an 8% ABV beer, with an initial hop bite that is quickly matched with grapefruit juice-like flavor elements over the malt sweetness. The feel is full - but not thick; finishes with a grass-infused citrus bitterness. Alma Mader hasn't been around very long, but has shown that they are in the top tier of KC-area breweries.

Can purchased from the brewery 4/9/2021.

Pours a murky pale orange with two fingers of fluffy white foam. Head formation bubbles up easier and quicker than many other NE IPA's. Aroma is citrus - grapefruit, papaya, mango, lemon and grassy hops. Malts are very faint, but come by way of biscuit. Citrus is the storyline thru and thru. Flavor profile is grapefruit, orange, lemon zest, papaya, mango, and grassy hops. It's hops thru and thru with just a touch of hop bite and zest at the end. Mouth feel is medium with a bit of gritty bubbly up front. It starts off with this gritty texture, then stills down to a lightly chalky, smooth consistency. Overall, big time citrus thru and thru with a good bit of grit to the texture.

Served in an IPA glass (Alma Mader's 2 year anniversary glass) from a 16oz can.
