Lump Sum is a brewer-driven series of IPAs, utilizing unconventional hops to target aroma and flavor profiles by working backwards. We select hops that we don’t use as often and evaluate them on the fly to achieve the profile we want, which means we set our blends and implementation processes in real-time. For this version, Riley selected a hop blend of Amarillo, Warrior, Azacca, and Cryo Bravo. We ended up with a soft, creamy, sweet citrus medley!

Pours a pale yellow with an opaque transparency. Head is a finger of white foam. Aroma is pineapple, mango, tangerine, and melon rind. Some green comes in late, but it's otherwise tangy tropical fruits. Flavor profile is pineapple, mango, tangerine, with big melon at the end. Again, it's all followed by some late green hop notes, adding a little bite at the finish. Mouth feel is faint silt and crushed chalk with a medium thickness. Overall, some late green hops add a bite, but the jammy, tangy tropical fruits are welcome.
