For Tides Turn, we used the Pink Boots blend from Yakima Chief, and Tania and Riley put their own twist on it with a heavy-handed dry hop of Citra and El Dorado. The aroma and flavor is an amalgamation of tropical juicy fruit, orange marmalade, and a touch of pine. The Pink Boots blend contains some pretty stellar hops that we are big fans of (like Talus and HBC 630), which many of you have tried in our other beers. Like last year, a portion of the proceeds will go to the Kansas City Chapter and National Pink Boots Society.

Pours a murky dark orange with a finger of white foam. Aroma is tropical fruits with a touch of pine at the back. It's not overly juicy overall despite leading with juicy notes. Flavor profile pushes tropical fruits again, with a solid start that starts to unweave at the mid-way point. As hops breakaway, it reveals doughy, bready malts and fruity yeast notes. Mouth feel is medium in thickness. Texture is driven by a light crushed silt throughout. It has a near soft effervescence. Overall, mild, tame, and tropical fruit forward. It's an easy going NE IPA.
