Reflection Chamber brings together some of our best barrels, giving us the opportunity to put together exciting blends. The 2024 blend consists solely of barleywines aged in Heaven Hill barrels for 21-28 months. These barrels were specifically held back for Madera Members as we earmarked them as being the most complex and unique when we pulled samples and set blends. On the nose and initial sip you get a traditional barleywine brightness consisting of bing cherry and plums. This blend marries rich maltiness and barrel character with notes of burnt sugar, praline, and vanilla in the mid-palate and finish.

Pours black with fatty and thick oil legs clinging to the glass after a swirl. Still in looks with no head formation. Aroma is candy sugar, toffee, plums, raisins, and molasses. As the beer warms, bits of oak, char, and heavy roasty and toasty malts become more apparent. As a whole, it's thick and semi-boozy with a decadent aura. Flavor profile is brown sugar, molasses, plums and raisins with dark fruits and candy sugar behind. Some residual sugar after the finish. Barrel is potent, adding a swell of heat that does well to retain the balance of the semi-sugary notes that precede it. Mouth feel is thick and full with a semi-still and soft texture. Oily stickiness at close. Overall, rich, decadent, and smooth. Dark fruits are big, but not enough to disrupt the balance. One of the better barleywines I've had as of late, especially within this local market.
