Light amber pour. Leaves no leaving. Nose is slightly bitter bready to it. Flavor is very nutty and caramel to it. Good amber beer that will satisfy.

Is any beer style more American than the amber ale? Maltier than pale ale and not as hoppy, the Versailles Brewing Company pairs their amber ale with the All-American pub fare for a session that just fits like a glove.
Waves of Grain kicks off with a standard amber, copper and bronze appearance, and hazy with an unfiltered glow. Toasted aromas carry a nutty, bready, and caramelized tone with a brisk citrus and sprucy spice. Sweet on the palate, the initial taste is smooth with caramel, light honey and an overall granola-like character.
But a more balanced taste pulls together on the middle palate as the malt sweetness slowly dries and the hops blossom into a spicy and resinous taste of orange peel, pink grapefruit and a dash of pine. Remaining slightly malt balanced, the finish is mildly peppery and grassy with a continued caramelized, nutty sweetness and a slight starch of nougat.
Medium bodied and playing a slight weighted game on the tongue, the beer's lighter than usual carbonaiton allows for a cask-like weight to favor malt sweetness and texture but limits the hop balance and drinkability. A medium length aftertaste of bread crust and pecan balances nicely with their Go Big Blue burger.
