Taster at brewery. Pale golden pour, scant head. Sweet, grainy aroma, bready. Taste is more sweet pale Malts with a nice full, slick feel. Creamy body

If domestic styles of American beer are anything, they are certainly not stagnant. Despite the trends of industrial light lager, breweries like Versailles Brewing Company are in constant flux to find the perfect taste for loyal fans. And the Cream Ale is not immune to adaptation.
Light straw and carrying a medium haze, their Legit Cream Ale floats a creamy luxurious blanket of foam. A pop of citrus leads the scent with the brightness of grapefruit and orange along with a crisp cereal sweet, fresh breaking bread aroma. A gentle sweetness grazes the tongue with the lightness of bread, honeysuckle, cream of corn and a hint of vanilla.
The cereal influence quickly drifts away as the middle palate is left with a brisk malt taste that's remiss of pilsner. The floral hop upstart resonates on the middle with a fruity balance that's surprisingly mild in bitterness, having the beer taking on the proportions of Kolsch-styled ale instead. A late palate of crisp, clean grassiness with a kiss of spruce has this seven-plus percenter drinking quite sessionable.
Medium bodied for a lighter styled beer, this somewhat hybrid type of beer is a fan friendly option for those wanting a familiar taste of lighter beer but with enough pazazz to keep the beer seeker-outers quite content.
