Vriendenbier is not the easiest to pour out. Had to keep my botle in a 90 degree angle to get some foam but doing that quiet fastly made me get a head with fine bubles and some bigger ones in the middle. Nice and yellowbrown but not staying to long. Rests of it sticked very good to the glas though and lasted and that together with the dark brown color and a litle haze of bigger particles made it a reasonable appearance. Nose is a litle empty though, malty with lots of caramel and litle roast. Further litlte yeastspice and alcohol. No good saaz hops to be deteceted like was listed on the label. Taste was full caramelmalty, litle sweet alcoholic and a taste of a well aged beer. Hardly any hops that make me think that this one is quiet old. Still in a good condition( BB jul 05 or 06?) and a fine malty based beer with nothing else interfering the malty taste. Like all the so far tasted beers made at the brewery in Schijndel good and recomended.
