The label on the bottle lists "pilsmout" (Pilsner Malt) as one of its ingredients. Anticipating a pilsner-like experience I selected a Czech Budweiser glass. On pouring a head of about a centimeter formed which quickly disappeared into a few flakes. The color is a hazy yellow due to the yeast. The smell actually resembled the Budweiser, and the taste as well. Other flavors were more sweet than the pilsner bitterness. All in all a very unusual beer.

Oh, and they changed the label (BB 2006-9, my bottle July '07).

Obtained this hard-to-find bottle at the Catford Beerfestival in SE London held in early June. The 330ml brown bottle bears a BBE date of August 2005, so I thought it might be time now that I enjoyed it...

Appearance: in a big tulip-shaped wine glass it pours a slightly cloudy, light amber hue, with a spongey off-white beerhead full of big and medium-sized bubbles... very very fizzy for whatever reason I don't know...
Smell: intense rock-candyish and grainy note arrives first, underlined by coriander seed's flavour, very lightly tart fruity (tangerine, green pineapple) and lively yeasty nose--overall very aromatic and refreshing!
Taste: a bit fizzy mouthfeel of pale mals and dryish fruity hops, with a slightly tart fruitiness... the finish is smoothly malty plus soft, fruity hops, but the bitterness is not pronounced enough by all means--what a pity.
Mouthfeel & Drinkability: very smooth and creamy texture this beer certainly has, especially after my palate overcomes the fizzy mouthfeel during the first two sips; but the overall body is not commensurate with the rich aroma, and the aftertaste is too short and at times even watery... followed by some sticky feel on the palate in the very end of each sip as I experienced. Not a great beer, though easy to drink.

Hopbelleke pours in hard; its not easy to get any foamingactivity and again that what was there went faster as it came. Litle rests stayd though for some time and color was gold with litle orange. Smell reminds you of the st bernardus yeast with the orange/peach and overal fruity arome. Hops are there too but nogting overwelming and smelled better hoparomes. Taste is full, litle caramel, sweet, and fruity before it gets into a good but certainly not overdone hopbitterness. Good beer but seening hops on the label an called hopbelleke I expected more bitterness. Mouthfeel and drinkabillity are cause of the fullness of taste and without edges good.
