Poured into a tulip.
Pours cloudy peach-gold with a nice fluffy white head. Decent retention. Excellent lacing.
Interesting aromas that straddle the line between Belgian Blonde and Dubbel. There are some of the earthy notes that are more evocative of the latter.
The brew has lightly toasted sweetness melded with grassy and earthy hops. Extremely well balanced. A bit of ester in a nod to the style. The yeast lends extra earthy/grassy flavors. My only issue here is that it's a bit messy and muddled, although it's still tasty.
Not what I would call crisp, but it has excellent carbonation and a medium to short drying finish.

a patersbier thats very well done, brought back from the source by my in laws in their travels, lucky me! i love the style and this is a nice take on it, not enough american breweries doing these. its super grassy, like straight up lawn, funny with the name but its true, seemingly from more than just the hops, like there is an undertone to this yeast that also hits like grass, its crazy, like the term grassy gets thrown around a lot with noble hops, but this is an entirely different level. interestingly i also get a quick hint of powdered peanut butter, perhaps something else weird from the ferment, its a little odd, but i get used to it quickly and ended up enjoying this a lot. its light on the grain side, lighter in flavor than its just north of blonde color suggests, and this ends up being much more about the yeast and the hops, which combine uniquely. this has a light toasted note, a ton of minerality coming through, some low tone esters of banana and green tea and the grass, and the hops bring a little bitterness along with their own grassy layer. overall for how light and drinkable this is, its really flavorful, neat for spring, and something a little different in the style. a great social sipper, a real conversation beer. i have been impressed with atypical across the board so far!
