cool label, cork and cage 750ml bottle, really super tasty but also exceedingly sour beer, a nice treat this weekend but definitely a beer to share, just bracingly acidic, but the peaches are amazing in here, natural and ripe and summery and glorious. the beer is quite pale, light orange colored and with popping fizziness despite it not really holding any head, it has some mild haziness to it too but still appears bright in the glass, no visible sediment until the very bottom. aroma is immediate mouthwatering pucker, as much lemon here as peach, tons of oak and white wine with it, tannic and sharp with the bacterial element in here, which has run away from any other yeast or funky nuance in the ferment it seems. the flavor is cool because sour as it is, the peaches are there from start to finish and never bring any sweetness at all, they are so ripe and real, just delicious. i could definitely use a little less acid, its downright vinegar as it warms, but its a good flavor and it seems to enhance the peach, make it permeate the tongue, and the oak mellows it just enough to keep it drinking. if it wasnt for the peaches, like if this wasnt fruited, it would be too much for me, but the peach keeps me coming back. id love to swap out some sour for some funk, i can tell that element is buried here, and i know these guys do some cool brett beers, but this one is for the acid heads no doubt. huge thanks to my extended family for hooking this bottle up for my birthday, feeling lucky and thankful!
