Covert Artisan Ales Barrel Aged Erzen Wild Ale, 9.5% ABV. Pours opaque dark brown, with a half-finger off-white head that left no lacing. Nose when first opened was vinegary, but a few minutes later was a light fruity funk. Taste is quite tart with no sweetness or fruit, and I couldn't detect any bourbon. Sweet aftertaste could be the bourbon peeking out from under the sour. Excellent mouthfeel, with above average carbonation. Overall an excellent non-pastry and non-fruit traditional sour, which is BBA.
