6 oz pour at brewery.

Silky dark seduction with a creamy fingernail of head.

Aroma of slight dirty coffee, coconut, and pastry crust. Some elements of alcohol too.

Flavor is just amazing. At first it gives off kind of a dirty coffee/sock vibe but then the pastry comes in with layers of burning chocolate, coconut, vanilla, and rye or brandy. Then it teeters on too sweet but the cold-pressed coffee balances it back. Impeccable.

Feel is thick and creamy like peanut butter and has a polite burning heat with mild tingling carbonation.

Overall, I am really proud of these guys and so glad I can finally vouch for an exceptional beer in our state. I will be telling my friends about this one!

Covert Artisan Ales No Bake BA Imperial Pastry stout, 10.5% ABV. Pours thick and black, with a one-finger brown head that left no lacing. Nose is peanut, chocolate, coffee, and coconut. Taste follows, plus cold-press coffee and rum, quite sweet, slightly bitter. Excellent mouthfeel, if a bit light on carbonation. Overall world-class. They knocked it out of the park with their first pastry stout.
