Black as night with a fingernail of head.
Aroma of roasted malt, a little bit of unfinished yeast trub, peppermint, spearmint, and chocolate.
Flavor is slight peppermint throughout, but mainly chocolate, coffee, and roasted barley malt. At the end the peppermint and spearmint surface and create a nice tingling linger that I imagine would be perfect for a winter's night.
Feel is thick, coats the mouth, mild carbonation, good dose of alcohol heat, drying finish.
Overall another very solid Imperial Stout from Covert. This one didn't blow me away but I would have ordered another glass if I hadn't been tanked already from friends buying rounds of other beers. Covert brewed this with traditional SD November weather in mind - little did anyone know we'd hit 70s during this week.
