Got in an IP trade with hoptheology. 500 ml can into tulip glass, canned in summer 2021, no can dating. Pours hazy opaque ruby red/dark purple color with a thin foamy pink head with poor retention, that reduces to nothing pretty quickly. No lacing, good amount of streaming carbonation and clinging bubbles on the glass. In contrast to the last CAA beer I had which was flat, this was very carbonated. Aromas and flavors of big sour/tart/tangy blackberries, fruit skin/seed, cherry, lemon, lime, green apple, red grape/wine, lacto funk, honey, granola, cookies, cinnamon; light raisin, vanilla, hay, straw, grass, peppercorn. Moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness, fruit tang; and light spiciness on the finish. High carbonation, medium body, and very crisp/clean finishing. Balanced grainy malt, lactic acid, fruit tang, and light tannins in the mouthfeel. Moderately drying and refreshing acidic finish, with no puckering sourness. Zero warming 5.5%. This is probably the best fruited kettle sour I've ever had. Massive loads of jammy berries, with perfect balance of adjunct/flavorings and lacto complexity. Nothing was overwhelming. This is world class, a brewery I never heard of before the IP trade in October.

6 oz pour at Covert.

Saturated burgundy color with zero head and no lacing.

Has a wonderful fresh nose of basil and lemon with fresh blackberries and blackberry lemonade.

Flavor brings blackberry in a big way. Nice lemon pie and pie crust notes behind that, along with cucumber, lime, and general mineral sour character. It develops on the palate and the finish is the best part - blackberry, lime, and cucumber. It's refreshing and enjoyable.

Feel is zippy, carbonated, puckering, acidic, and semi-juicy. A little heat but not over the top.

Overall, yet another stellar beer from these guys. If they keep ramping up their game like this, I may have to start buying crowlers here and not going to Nebraska to pick up my Southern Grist orders as often. Pretty on point. Highly enjoyable. More in line with a traditional refreshing fruited sour than anything new school. That's my preference.

This seems like a beer that I could chill out with a can of on a given game night. Will probably get some.
