Poured into a nonic.
Pours very pale for an IPA--straw gold and crystal clear. Outstanding fluffy white head that lingers quite well. Ridiculous lacing.
Aromas are subdued, but interesting. Modest malt aromas. A bit of stone fruit and vegetal, earthy, and grassy hops.
Honey-kissed pale malts on the tip of the tongue. Covert has a very distinctive malt profile from brew to brew and this one delivers it. The rest of the brew is definitely unique. It's an American IPA, and a fairly sessionable one at that, but dances on the edge of APA territory. Herbal notes and earthy hops in midstream and the finish. Tingly. Quirky as hell.
Extremely drinkable. Medium-light bodied with excellent carbonation and a short drying finish.
It looks incredible. It's remarkably drinkable. Is it really an IPA? I'm not sure. But the flavor is solid for a fairly sessionable-level ABV.
