A Commemorative Ale (Barleywine) in honor of our new family member. It was aged on Hungarian oak with vanilla and a touch of cinnamon. It was a contender to become Halcyon Promise. Have no fear we did a double barrel version so that may still happen.

Covert Artisan Barley English Barleywine, 11% ABV. From the weenie 6.3oz bottle, it pours dark-brown with no head, hence no lacing. Aroma is toffee and vanilla. Taste is toffee, moderately sweet, slightly bitter. Decent mouthfeel, with almost no carbonation. Overall excellent.
