Pours black with two fingers of khaki foam that retains well. Aroma is roasty, earthy, bready, biscuity malts with light herbal and spicy hops. Very simplistic nose that leans dark, but retains a refreshing quality. Flavor profile is roasty, nutty, earthy, bready, biscuity malts with light-bodied and shy notes of herbal and spicy hop notes. Mouth feel is medium-thin with a surprising velvety texture, that makes for a very refreshing and enjoyable beer, although it’s not a ‘crisp’ lager. Overall, a very enjoyable lager that deviates from the norm. It’s easy drinking, but also lightly bold via the velvety texture, making it an enjoyable experience that shares the strengths of both porters and lagers.
