Appearance: A lightly hazy golden-orange body is surmounted by a large, sense and persistent snow-white head. An irregular but unbroken thin ring of lacing adorns the glass wall. Minute bubbles in small steams drift lazily to the surface.
Aroma: A lightly sweet, pronounced bread malt aroma dominates, there are also pleasant floral or perhaps noble hop notes.
Taste: At the opening of the taste, there is a strong bread malt presence, with a bit of caramel. This is soon followed by floral hop notes stronger than the aroma would suggest. Later in the taste, there are some mildly earthy yeast notes. Along with the hops, this serves to balance the bready and slightly sweet malt notes. The finish offers a mild, lingering bitterness.
Mouth feel: Very full and pleasant, soft, with pleasing soft carbonation.
Drinkability/notes: A very nice and quite drinkable example of the style, it would pair well with a nice dinner of bratwurst, sauerkraut and German Potato salad.
Presentation: Packaged in a 500ml aluminum can, served in a South American-style Pilsener glass.

Pours a completely clear crisp bronze color. Fuzzy, bubbly white head dissipates steadily leaving a thin partial layer of bubbles on top of the beer. Not much lacing is left.
Aroma has a sweetness to it interspersed with a bready malt backbone and some esters and yeasty notes. Maybe a bit doughy? Touch of floral hops also comes through.
Taste follows the nose with notes of bready almost doughy malts. Hints of sweetness, yeast, floral hops, and a lingering sweetness. Mild bitterness on the back end that does some to balance out the sweetness, but it stays a bit too sweet.
Feel is smooth, with medium carbonation. Finish is a bit dry - maybe a bit chalky.
Overall this is a solid maibock, but its just a tad too on the sweet side.

500mL canned 2/21/17 poured into a krug at fridge temp 7.2% ABV. Listed drink by date of 4/17/18. The beer is more gold than copper and has plenty of off white head that settles into a ring around the mug and nice lacing. The aroma is weak but both malt and noble hops are present. The taste starts with a sweet bready taste mixed with a floral bitterness at the end. The sweetness is not cloying and the bitterness is there only to equal the malt. Mouthfeel is a bit chalky and doesn't finish quite as dry as I would prefer. These are both minor points but I mention it to give meaning to the score. Carbonation is good and adequate for style. Overall, this beer is good. I've had a couple other maibocks recently that are better, but this is still drinkable and solid. The value is an A+ as these are $5.99/4 pk of 500mL cans at my local Aldi.
