Review: 50cl can of Feldschlösschen Dunkel Brune: 5.5% vol.

Comes in an all brown can, not the prettiest sight but it will do. Also can get in bottles.

Get a good amount on the pour, nice. Good frothy tanned head, and a deep amber looking beer, looks good, no it looks fantastic, very nice on the eye. Good lacing.

Very light smell, very faint. Just a regular beery aroma, malty and not much else. Disappointing.

Nice big mouthfuls on the initial taste, oh, very nice. Aftertaste is roasted malts, smoky, interesting!

Not a bad taste, biscuity taste, deep, I like it. Especially the aftertaste, full bodied and very filling in the taste.

Like a hearty meal, very good, perfect for a slow session. Went down very well, not too bitter, quite well balanced.

Coffee tastes detected and sweet caramel malts. Overall I liked this a lot, and I will return, nice one.

Pours a dark chestnut color. Completely clear although not see-through due to the dark color. Thick frothy off-white head collapses downward but not completely.

Aroma has notes of banana, clove, bready malts, wheat, and some wet cardboard.

Taste has notes of banana, dark fruit, clove, pepper, some spicy hops and wheat. The bitter spicy hops starts towards the back end into the finish and linger on the palate. Bit watery overall. The weird cardboard aroma doesn't really carry into the flavor profile.

Feel is light, almost watery. Lacks the thicker creamy body typical of the style. Mild carbonation.

Overall its alright, but not a great example of the style. The flavors are to watery, the feel is off and the wet cardboard aroma cannot be overlooked.

From the can purchased at Aldi, it pours a hazy brown with a classic hefeweizen type robust tan head. Scents of banana and light malt. Taste is similar, with a very light malt flavor. Quaffable.
