The pour from a pint can into a clear glass liter mug looks promising, albeit, not any better than most within this category. It's black coffee brown, with a tan head that appears enduring. There's a decent, but not noteworthy aroma of roasted malt. The not noteworthiness becomes apparent when the taste and mouthfeel are evaluated. They come across a little lacking in both categories. There's no rich body here, nor is there a deeply complex roasted malt taste. It becomes obvious that there's no appreciable glass lacing, nor lasting head. It's difficult to mess up a stout and this doesn't. But, it doesn't rank nearly among the best.

Look: It pours very dark brown with a brown head. Head retention is very good.
Smell: It has rich coffee aromas with some roast. There is a very light burnt element with a hint of vanilla.
Taste: It has flavors of coffee, roast with some dark fruits. The fruitiness is not distinct with a bit of vanilla.
Feel: It has a medium body with a smooth feel and a pleasant slight bitterness in the finish.
Overall, it really has a silky texture to it with simple flavors that are bold and well produced.
