Lucid is an unfiltered IPA double dry hopped with Amarillo flowers, pellets and lupulin powder.
Crisp and focused with aromas of sliced baguette and basil. Canary melon, sea salt and sassafras arise on the palate. Emphatic carbonation carries a finish reminiscent of watermelon rind.
Brewed with pilsner malt, raw and malted wheat, flaked and malted oats, and light Munich malt.
Keep cold and drink fresh.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a very hazy, light golden amber with a one finger white head with good retention and chunky lacing. Aroma of citrus and lightly dank hops, lemon, melon, grapefruit, yuzu, grass; a little spicy. Flavor is citrus and mildly grassy hops, orange, yuzu, grapefruit, mixed mystery fruit; develops a non-piney but resinous character before the hop flavors drop off somewhat into a clean, bitter finish with lingering resinous hops. Medium bodied with light creaminess. A distinctive hazy that has very little tropical fruit character, but plenty of pleasant, unidentifiable fruit notes. The main fruits are citrus, as expected from Amarillo and the dry and pellet hopping produce some intense mixed citrus esters. Nice bitter finish that puts this in the category of hazies that appeal to me, and different enough from the expected tropical profile that it is enjoyable to drink. I'm reluctant to judge a brewery on hazy IPAs, but sadly, that's the style that everyone seems to send to new markets, so I'm glad when it works out to be interesting and enjoyable. I'll definitely want to try others from Freethought.
