A: Pours a dark brown, nearly black color. A two finger beige head forms with good retention and light lace left behind.
S: A nice roast character up front. Coffee, chocolate, baked bread. Simple and really enjoyable.
T: Follows the nose, but a more pronounced roast flavor. Chocolate, coffee, toasted malts, baked bread, some sweetness. There is a touch of bitterness lingering, so the malts are always in balance.
M/O: A medium body and good carbonation. This becomes very smooth. A really enjoyable straight forward example of the style. Another offering that I can come back to again and again.
Body wise, this isn't as big as say Great Heights or 512 Pecan Porter. Both I enjoy a lot, but the relatively softer body here helps to make this more in line with a Porter IMO. I love the non fussy, straight forward example of the style here.
