A: Pours a clear yellow/orange color. A two finger white head forms with good retention and lace left behind.
S: A simple, but pungent and aromatic aroma. Big pine and grapefruit. Yep, that is it, but it is enjoyable.
T: Like the nose, pine and grapefruit are big and up front. A bit of a woody hoppy character as well. Though the aggressive bitterness lingers on forever and makes this unbalanced.
M/O: A medium body that is crisp and super dry. The bitterness becomes overbearingly astringent. All that said, its a good IPA if you are really in the mood for old school bitterness.
Despite the unbalanced and astringent bitterness, I do enjoy this. Certainly not my favorite IPA around, but the intense character has its own kind of charm, and I have had a few pints before. So its good for what it is. If it was a bit more toned down, I think I would love this, as is, just a good but slightly flawed (IMO) IPA.
