A: Pours a murky, hazy orange color. A small white head forms and recedes quickly. Light lace is left behind...why is this so murky?
S: A very neutral aroma. That is kind of caramel malty, kind of something resembling hops? For as ill defined as it is, not particularly unpleasant. Just, I'm not sure what this is suppose to be...
T: Like the nose, this is as ill defined..which doesn't make sense. Again, kind of caramel malty, kind of hoppy. If there is anything resembling any kind defined style, this has eluded me. There is really nothing even lingering either. It just kind of ends.
M/O: A medium body, moderate carbonation. That is a bit more viscous and slick than I would want. Not a very clean lager to say the least. I'm not coming back to this.
I generally think North Shepherd has done decent enough beers, that I can drink again. Nothing particularly exceptional or unique, but solid enough to have a few when stopping by. This is easily my least favorite of their offerings though. I don't know how anybody, let alone a brewer could think of this as a "Festbier" or any kind of lager for that matter. Not to any style I can tell, and to be kind, very generic otherwise.
