A no frills German Berliner Weisse, no fruit syrups, no additives. Just a nice low ABV kettle sour.
A: Pours with a touch of haze, that clears up, that is golden yellow in color. A two finger white head forms at first. That quickly recedes and leaves spotty lace.
S: Up front is a mineral aroma, with orange rind lemon and acidity. A simple nose, but very enjoyable.
T: Like the nose, a simple fruity acidity. With orange rind and lemon. The acidic bite builds, but is never overbearing. Cereal grains and a cracker like malt flavor helps with balance. Very nice.
M/O: A light body with high carbonation. Very effervescent, crisp, and dry. A good example of the style, and something I can down in big gulps. The nice puckering keeps me coming back for more. Very nice.
Straight forward, with enough acidic and tart bite to satisfy. Without being overbearing in any way. This is what got me to like the style in the first place, and glad they do a no frills version. Well done, and I'll be back to have some more.
