Sixteen Suns is a traditional Belgian Tripel with white peppercorn and golden raisin aroma followed by sweet malt, a hint of clove, and a dry finish that hides the 9.4% ABV dangerously well.

Look - poured from a can into a Nonic pint glass. It has a nice, honey-like orange coloring - very appealing. However, no lacing and no head whatsoever in less than two minutes after the pour.
Smell - as others have shared, this is a nice rendition of the style, and the smell follows. A little bit of clove, white pepper, grass, and some faint banana as well. Well done.
Taste - I pick up the banana and clove, but am also being hit with an overwhelming astringency that feels like it's coming from the alcohol. The alcohol, in my opinion, is not too well hidden and bites you after that very pleasant, initial banana/clove taste.
Feel - it is thinner than I'd expect for a beer this big. It could use a touch more mouthfeel than is present in my glass.
Overall - I'm glad I tried this. The aroma is really nice and the initial hit of flavor is very much in line with an American version of a Belgian Tripel. If I am visiting their brewery here in Houston, I might give it another go to see if the booze has settled in a different manner than what I experience in the can. In the meantime, I'm not going to seek out another can of this because of that heat.

I had this beer on-tap in a small nonic glass at the brewery in Houston. The taplist there had it rendered as “XVI Suns”.
Appearance: medium golden hue with no haze and a finger of creamy ivory foam leaving a nice lace on the glass. That’ll do!
Smell: sweet and a bit astringent and boozy. Kind of typical for an American-brewed tripel.
Taste: flavor is in a similar vein as the aroma. There’s sweetness and a little fruitiness that I like in the style, but also a harshness and a booziness that I don’t.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a reasonable smoothness and a decent creaminess.
Overall: this triple is just a bit too hot and harsh for me to be really into it. It has been otherwise rated quite well, so I wonder if there’s an issue just with this batch, or if it benefits from aging in a bottle, or what. If I ever see this in a bottle, I’d like to try it in that format too to give it another chance.

Found a bottle of this nice beer at a Houston area Total Wine.
Poured into a tulip glass. Slightly hazy golden yellow color with a wonderful fluffy effervescent head and great curtain lacing. Smell and taste of sweet apples and cracked white pepper. Fresh toasted bread with a hint of marmalade and honey. Herbal with just the right sweetness. The beer opens up as it warm. A woodsy little bite to finish. Very nice!

Serving: 500 ml bottle poured into a Spiegelau beer tulip.
Appearance: Slightly hazy, bright golden yellow, with a thick, creamy head of lush white foam. Nice streaky lace.
Smell: Spicy phenols and fruity esters are on point. Cloves, peppercorns, grass and hints of candied tropical fruit and citrus.
Taste: Big and complex: freshly baked apple pie, cloves, white pepper and grassy hops. Tight balance between sweet, bitter and boozy.
Mouthfeel: Medium body, and lively but smooth effervescent carbonation.
Overall: A wonderfully big and balanced Tripel, showing just how good and diverse Houston’s beer scene has become.

A: Pours a golden/orange color with a light haze. A dense white head rises to over two fingers. Plenty of lace left all the way down the glass.
S: Very aromatic. Phenolic yeast and peppery spice, that doesn't become all plastic like, which many American examples tend to do. A touch of citrus, a touch of caramel apples. Love it.
T: Like the nose, that big phenolic yeast character and white pepper like spice, kind of clove like. Citrus, apples, a touch of toffee like sweetness, with fresh baked bread. Even a touch of grassy bitterness lingering. Excellent.
M/O: A medium to full body. Excellent effervescent carbonation. That becomes ultra smooth as this breaths. This is a great sipper as well. Actually, with an almost nonexistent alcohol presents, this can be drunk dangerously in gulps. Which, again is excellent.
This might be one of the better American examples of a Belgian Tripel I have had in a long time. Really well done all around. True Anomaly has really dialed in some of their Belgian styles. I guess the is the base for some of the dry hopped versions they have done in the tap room. I haven't had those, but this is excellent and very traditional. No need to augment with American style hops IMO.
