Flavorful, yet eminently drinkable. The delicate balance between bready malt and spicy and grassy Czech hops make it obvious why this beer inspired the lager revolution. Glass Castle is Silver Branch’s holy grail—getting this elusive style right reflects the passion we bring to the craft and science of brewing.

We use reverse osmosis-soft water, imported Bohemian barley and Saaz hops, and a traditional decoction mash to give you a classic Bohemian Pilsener that is smooth and satisfying.

Clear amber/orange appearance with a large, fast fading white head and modest lacing. Bready malt aroma with a very light touch of lemon in the background. Crisp, cracker-like taste matched up with a subtle floral hop flavor. Clean, balanced finish.

The beautiful half inch of white head persists for a while before fading. The nose is balanced with hops slightly ascendant over the bread note. Taste is similar, with a little less bite initially that smooths out in the finish. Texture could stand a bit of stiffening, but this is a nice example of the style from this local brewer with whom I had not been previously familiar. Nice choice for summer imbibing, especially outside.

Very solid pilsener, Orange appearance and minimal head. It is more sweet malty and not as hoppy as some. Would like for more aroma as its pretty void of Noble Hops. Still well crafted and enjoyable session beer.

12oz can into a pint glass.

Look: Pours a crystal clear gold with a thin, soapy white head that dissipates very quickly. A very slow stream of bubbles can be seen rising to the top of the glass.
Smell: Biscuity/bready malt, a light sweet toffee/caramel aroma, noble hops.
Taste: Follows the nose. Light bready malt, an herbal note, and a small crisp hop bite on the end.
Feel: Light/thin mouthfeel. Low carbonation, tight bubbles.
Overall: A very solid pilsner, the pieces are all there. Maybe lacking a bit in carbonation, but that's a minor complaint.

Crystal clear gold, but no head.
aromas of deep, bready malt and noble hops
Sweet bread crust, herbal hops, very crisp and refreshing
medium bodied by dry, very low carbonation for the style
maybe they need to calibrate their canning system a little better to get more CO2 into solution. More carbonation would help the appearance and mouthfeel and make it even more drinkable. Otherwise, great.

Poured from the can into a Libbey style pilsner glass.

Light chestnut brown with mixing light brass bronze colors. A good hue, and dark streak along the edges, with a slightly opaque body, but with enough clarity to show off some very fine carbonation. Just under three fingers for a creamy fluffy bright white classic head, that has some good staying power.

Aroma is a bit caramel dominant, but with a clean quality. There's a burst of brown sugar sweetness but disappears after a few sniffs. Not much sensing hop presence, perhaps a light bit of herbs, but the malts are prominent than anything.

Palate makes an interesting presence. Nice crisp solid mouthfeel. Touches a little bit of sweetness but has an incredible sharp hop bitterness particularly on the finish. Hits quite peppery in the hop angle, with a very strong almost steely bitterness which is a tad jarring.

A drinkable pils, but a bit too aggressive than it needs to be. Misses a bit of the green herbal and a lot of the bakery quality I like in a good pils.

Beer lept out of can upon opening - slightly high-filled can?

Golden color, fairly clear. Poured a modest white head with typical retention.

Classic pilsener aroma with soft malt and some herbal/spicy noble hops present. Very clean nose - well made and lagered.

Flavors have a nice meld of malt and hops, with a bright hop flavor. Just bitter enough in the finish to demand another sip, in the Pilsner Urquell tradition. Overall very clean. Will say that the hop bitterness creeps up over time, but is a pleasant lingering spice note.

Light-medium body, medium-high carbonation. Combination of hops and carbonation makes it a bit drying on the tongue, but not astringent.

A very classic tasting pils. Nice to have a world class version being brewed so close to home for me.
