Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass.

Very nice looking IPA. Deep amber, with orange and expressive red body color and with a good amount of clarity to math. Head is off white, almost khaki with a fluffy three finger height, and excellent lacing and retention.

Interesting hop aroma. Hits of light florals and some matching sweet malt caramel tones, but has a bit of a soapy quality to it. Faint touch of chocolate hinting in the back interestingly too it seems. Interesting malt/hop combo.

Palate continues some of the same themes. A bit more malt forward, with more of the milky chocolate sense of sweetness. Soft pine and some matching caramel with light floral tones in the mix as well.

Not a very hop forward IPA, but has a very unique malt bill and flavor. Interesting brew.

Amber color, good clarity. Pours a nice tightly bubbled head the lingers pretty well for a 10.5% beer.

Complex hop nose with some pine and pineapple. A bit of malty sweetness to accent the fruity hops. Smells yummy.

Big malt and hops from the first sip. Lots of tropical fruit notes and a bit sweet, but like with the aroma the sweet and the hops pair well. Heck, the sweet could be from the hops with the crazy new varieties. Hop bitterness is soft, and the overall hop flavors carry into the finish. Minimal alcohol flavor - shockingly smooth for such a strong beer.

Medium body and carbonation, a hint of warming. No astringency. Super pleasant mouthfeel for a beer like this one.

As a rule I don't like like > 8% hoppy beers, but rules are made to be broken. An exceptionally pleasant big hoppy IPA. May need to pick up some more of this one.
