Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass.
Deep mahogany to ruby bending color stream in the glass, with a khaki to light tan big head, that is easily standing at just above three fingers in height. Good retention, with clumpy lace and fine swiss cheese bubbles.
Faint aroma, but a pleasant one. Small touches of caramel malt and brown light sugar, even milk chocolate mixing with a pine and mellow earthy hop bent. Pretty solid but lacks some punch and distinction. Not faded, just not impressive.
Palate definitely sits right. Mellow malt body with touches of cream and light toasty malt and brown sugar character. Hits with a bit of pine and a real nice malt crusty brown bread, maybe even a bit of char sneaking in there too. Some real interesting malt character on a hop forward brew. Simple mouthfeel provides a good base for the hops and malt.
Interesting crafted red IPA, but interestingly has more of a more interesting malt profile than a hop one.

Rating this as an American Amber Ale, because that's what it really is.
Aroma of grapefruit, caramel malt, native grape. Awesome retention and lace.
Very dark amber with a bit of a chill haze. Big tan head.
Caramel malt, muscadet grape, grapefruit. Not too sweet.
Nice crisp, bitter finish. Clean. Medium-heavy mouthfeel, good carb for the style
Really great as an Amber Ale.
Mods, please change this beer to appropriate category.
