At the dawn of the Craft Beer Revolution brewers shocked drinkers with highly hopped and bitter West Coast IPA. Triple dry-hopped with Chinook, Columbus, and Cascade, Cosmic Spring is hoppy and bitter, with a dry, fruity-dank finish to keep you coming back for more!

Poured from a can into a mug, where it quickly subsides into a dark amber body, topped with a thin froth. Nice nose of orange slice and lemongrass is in the air. Mild bitterness accentuated by triple dry-hopped Chinook, Cascade, and Columbus hops. Nice fruitiness on the palate that leaves little after taste. Surprisingly crisp and refreshing with a minor dank feel. Great quaff.

Light amber with a little chill haze, white head, good retention and lace
Orange, grapefruit, pine, dank, and juicy fruit gum aromas
Orange, grapefruit and piney hop flavors, a little bit of caramel maltiness
Medium bodied with appropriate carbonation
I miss beers like this.

Pale amber color, good clarity. Pours a medium sized white head, creamy and with good retention.

Big piney hop aroma perhaps with a bit of mango or papaya as well. Nice mix of pine/fruit/sweet in the aroma with some malt in play as well.

Some healthy caramel malt sweetness up front, transitioning to a somewhat tropical fruit sweetness tempered with some earthy pine notes. Finish isn't overly bitter, which surprised me. For some reason expected an old school west coast IBU bomb. But does finish gently bitter and with copious hop flavors carrying into the finish. Fairly easy drinking for a nearly 7% IPA.

Medium body and carbonation. No astringency or warming - mouthfeel not negatively impacted by the copious hops, but is slightly drying in the finish

The hop combo in this beer works for me, and makes for an updated classic of an IPA. Hoppy but not overpowering, and doesn't neglect the malt aspect of the beer. Nicely balanced and delicious.
