While he is used to being mistaken as the front man for a 70s punk band, Squid Vicious is actually an aficionado of aggressively hopped IPAs. This, his namesake beer, is made with naked oats, oat malt, and flaked oats and generously hopped with Sabro, Citra, Galaxy, and Hallertau Blanc. Drinking Squid Vicious is like swimming in hops!

Gold with some chill haze, clears a bit as it warms. Dense off-white head, good retention, rings of sticky lace
Lots of tropical fruit in the aroma, muscadine grapes, grapefruit, pineapple
Pretty much tastes like it smells, with a bit of oat milk flavor as well
Heavy bodied, silky, lower carbonation, but I don't think you could increase it without it seeming weird. A bit hot.
Interesting, but not something I'd want to drink regularly.

A 16 oz can of a DIPA...a bit intimidating.

Golden color, slightly hazy. Pours a moderate sized white head, very creamy and with nice retention for a strong beer.

Big grapefruit and pineapple and tropical fruit nose. Intensely fruity and slightly sweet smelling.

Initial flavor matches the nose, quite fruity and slightly sweet. Not a sharp break toward the finish, but the fruitiness does fade into a balanced finish with a hint of alcohol. Hop bitterness isn't pronounced, but does eventually become apparent.

Medium body and carbonation. No astringency, some minimal alcoholic warming. Fairly gentle on the tongue for a big IPA. Maybe the oats are rounding out the mouthfeel a bit?

Another dangerous, easy to drink strong beer from this brewery. Hops are quite fruity, but they worked for my palate. Definitely not an IBU bomb or overly boozy - has a nice balance.
