In 1501 Amerigo Vespucci determined that South America was a separate continent- a fact far more important than most beer lovers realize. Unwittingly, explorers played matchmaker between a cold-tolerant yeast from Patagonia and a long-established Eurasian brewing yeast. The result of this liaison was the yeast used to ferment lager beer. We brewed Vespucci's Connection as a classic German Pilsner with a small dry hop to celebrate this most positive of intercontinental connections!

Brilliantly clear straw, white head, nice retention, droopy rings of lace.
Noble hop aroma up front- floral, herbal, lemon zest, a bit of green apricot, with an underlying malt aroma of sweet rolls.
Sweet bready malt, with herbal, lemon zest hop flavor
Crisp, clean, light-bodied, and well carbonated
Damn good and I like that they call it a Dry-Hopped German Pilsner and not an Italian Pilsner. Hopefully this will be brewed regularly.

Deep golden color, brilliantly clear. Pouring from a freshly filled growler - decent head and retention with an aggressive pour.

Had a fleeting spicy hop aroma, but mostly smelling clean lager character with a hint of malty sweetness.

Surprisingly rich malt flavor up front, but well balanced with hops. Has a smooth bitterness in the finish. Honestly not as bitter as I expected, but the back end bitterness does grow with continued drinking. Overall just a clean and well balanced pale lager. Did get a few passing impressions of some vegetal hop(?) flavors, and is it warmed the hops became a bit more of a dank IPA kind of hops.

Medium body and carbonation. Mouthfeel stays out of the way.

More muted than I expected, but I will never complain about a clean drinking lager, particularly when it is an unseasonably warm 76 degrees outside. Not sure about the hops used and labeling it as a German Pils.
