Hazy copper appearance with a large off white head that left good lacing. Aroma is playing both sides of the fence. Initially, the hops were showing notes of stone fruit, berries and a slight bit of tropical fruit. Then the malts stepped in with a biscuity, nutty, rye-like presence. Malts were more dominating in the taste, especially the rye. Hops hung in there but developed more of a resinous and spicy profile without the tropical fruit. Clean, dry finish. Brewer did a stand out job with this one.
FWIW, this may be a refined recipe from the original. Per the info on the can, the hops used now are Comet, Chinook and Cascade as opposed to the ones mentioned in the 'Notes'.

As I started the pour, I thought both that this reminds me of fall and it's a tad ugly. The haze on the burnt orange / amber brown body is buoyed by a nice off white head. Lacing starts in grainy streams as I take my first sips.
The rye comes through nicely and is paired with some citrus notes. The flavors a uplifting, oddly enough. The rye has an earthy breadiness and just the right amount of spice to pair with the tangerine and grapefruit. A bit of pine makes a show in the second half and seems to add to the spice.
The nose is definitely in play in acting as a compliment to my tasting sense. It brings more rye bread and orange/tangerine to accentuate the experience. For 7.4%, this beer is a mediumish beer, but comes across a bit lighter to me with moderate carbonation and some refreshing citrus notes.

Pale amber color, quite cloudy and pours a nice creamy white head.
Intense hop aroma that could smell from about 8 inches away. Tropical mango/papaya kinds of aromas, and an overall tropical fruit sweetness.
Big hit of malt and tropical fruit hops up front. Very gentle transition to a slightly bitter finish. Pleasant from beginning to end, with a soft yet fruity bitterness in the finish. Hops blend nicely in the flavor, with a mix of fruity and earthy that keeps it from going too far in one direction.
Medium body and carbonation, no astringency. Does get a bit of a tongue coating sensation upon more consumption - a slight drying that lets you know there are some hops here.
Honestly pretty perfect as far as I'm concerned for a "new school" IPA that doesn't completely neglect bitterness. A very easy drinking and nice beer.

Light amber with some haze, white head, not so great retention, rings of lace.
Grapefruit, muscadine grapes, pine, berries, and a little dank in the nose.
Earthy, bready, spicy malts with pine, berry and citrus hops.
Medium bodied but a bit slick feeling from the rye, appropriate carbonation.
Incredibly well done rye IPA. The rye flavor is prominent, and is complimented by the hops. Hope they brew this every fall
