Hell means pale in German, and Helles is the name for the ubiquitous pale lager served in Munich. This easy-drinking, malty lager, with a touch of German Hallertau Mittelrfuh hops, is the quintessential lawnmower beer. It's hot as Hades outside- go grab a Heavenly Hell and enjoy the long, lazy dog days of summer!

I’ve had this one from a can pour, and on draught. A straw colored pour with a thick head, and some decent random lacing.
Lightly toasted malt flavor dominates, hints of caramel commingle with the tasty hops profile.
The finish is fairly well balanced and fades to a pleasant dryness.
A well crafted Helles.

Poured from the can into a Libbey style pilsner glass.

Golden and nearly crystal clear body, with excellent lines of slow rising carbonation. Plentiful topped bleach white head, thick and reaching a big three fingers off the pour. Big bubbled with minimal lacing and a bright shine.

Excellent nose. Clean sensing, even almost campfire toasty of dry cracker malt notes and mixing bready delicious baked bread. Mild touches of honey sweetness, and subtle spiced hop. Excellent aroma.

Palate is exceptional. Mimicing much of the aroma, the flavors roll just nicely. Dry and clean sensing with more cracker and almost champagne like crispness of dough malt, and dry herbal hop. Faint touching honey on the finish, but more hits of dryness and even smoke on the palate. Light touches in feel but bold and rich pushing flavors still come through.

Really well crafted lager here.

Clear yellow, thin white head, not much in the way of retention, no real lacing
Smells like lightly toasted bread with touch of herbs,
Tastes like the crust of brioche with quite a bit more herbal hops than expected for the style. Not pilsner level, but definitely there
Light bodied, appropriately carbonated, and very drinkable
I like this a lot more than most helles that I've tried, but I think it's more due to it being hoppier than it should be

Straw colored and fairly clear. Poured a decent white head with so so retention.

Has a soft malty nose, slightly sweet. A hint of something biscuit or cracker like.

Extremely easy drinking. The gentle malt is perfectly balanced by the hops, without it being hoppy. In some ways drinks like an all-malt version of an underhopped macro "pilsner". Nice clean lager character, with a hint of malty sweetness in the finish. No rough edges on the flavors

Light-medium body, moderate carbonation.

A nice rendition of "beer flavored beer". Definitely a beer ready to be drunk in volume - regretting that I'm drinking a 12 oz can instead of a 1 L serving of it at the brewery.
