Served on-tap in a plain tumbler pint glass at City Steam Brewery Cafe in Hartford, Conn.
A: Deep, copper-brown amber with a two-finger thick head of creamy white foam that left some nice webby lacing on the glass.
S: Roasted caramel malts with wafts of toffee, earthy malts, some fruity, grainy aromas and a light herbal hop scent. Slight whiff of phenol alcohol as well.
T: Rich, sweet roasted caramel and a pinch of black malt give deep, baked sweet bread flavors, rich, hearty grains with a touch of creaminess and a slightly herbal and spicy hop complex to dry things out in the sticky sweet and slightly stinging alcoholic finish. A smooth and enjoyable American marzen.
M: Rich, creamy, slightly chewy and smooth full-bodied mouthfeel with a slight alcohol burn right at the end. Fairly dense on the palate but fine flavors keep it flowing.
O: A pretty darn good American marzen. A rich, malty autumn lager with loads of bready malt flavors and a hint of herbal hops balance things out. Has a nice warming alcohol effect also despite clocking in around 6% ABV. Good enough tfor a few over the course of a night. Prost!

Surprisingly good, and a unique version of an American Oktoberfest. Dark mahogany hue, very subtle aroma. Hops are easily the dominant element, challenged only by a pleasing alcoholic note. Had this on pint night, and if we didn't have a few other brews to try, I'm sure my buddy and I would have gone through several glasses.

A light caramel color with a foamy oatmeal colored head. Nice lacing around the glass as I sip. Disappointed by the lack of aroma. Sweet malty flavor, with hints of honey and pear, some tartness in the finish. Mouthfeel is a bit tannic. Damn good Oktoberfest beer.
